Jones & Shipman TRS2 Spindle Rebuild
This dressing wheel spindle started making noise and the rpm’s dropped suddenly. We disassembled the spindle and found the front bearings in very rough shape. The taper had 5 microns of run out. All critical components were checked and passed inspection. The spindle shaft was routed to our grinding department where they ground the taper with the Kellenberger grinder. The shaft was then inspected and ready for assembly. Our experienced technician assembled the spindle with new bearings and seals. The spindle was balanced and passed all quality control checks. The spindle shipped with less than 2 microns of run out. The vibration and velocity readings all show a very smooth running spindle.
