Kiwa 400 Spindle Rebuild

A machine rebuilder was selling their machine and found that the spindle was bad. They needed the spindle as soon as possible. Our breakdown technician found that the rotary union failed causing coolant to contaminate the rear bearing. The taper also needed a kiss grind. The shaft was put into our grinding department and they kiss ground the taper. Our experienced technicians then assembled the spindle. The rotary union on this spindle was in rough shape. We looked at purchasing one but found that delivery was 6 weeks away. We spoke with our customer and decided to manufacture new shaft for the rotary union. This process only took one week for the whole process. The customer was able to sell his machine with a rebuilt spindle and rotary union.
