Northland Tool & Electronics works hand in hand with our customers to make sure our spindle repair exceeds our customer's expectations. Repair History
Brother TC227 Spindle Repair
This customer was new to Northland Tool & Electronics. They sent in a Brother TC227 to be repaired. The HSK shaft taper had 8-10 microns runout and 16 microns runout on the face. The front bearings were worn and had very little grease in them. The drawbar grippers were also worn. We replaced the bearings. We ground, chrome plated and reground the HSK shaft taper using our Kellenberger ID/OD grinders. The spindle was then put through our standard procedure of adjusting the preload, balancing, assembling and breaking in the spindle. It was then thoroughly checked in our QC department. New customers are generally impressed with our standard one year warranty. We stand behind our work.
Brother TC Spindle
This spindle had the retention knob break during cutting causing galling of the taper. This customer called us to have an in-house taper grind done. Unfortunately there was not enough clearance in the Brother machine to accommodate our taper grinder. We sent our technician to the plant to access the options. While he was there it was decided to have him remove the spindle and bring it to Northland Tool. We were able to kiss grind the taper in assembly on one of our Kellenburger grinders saving the customer the cost of a spindle rebuild.
