2400 rpm – The grease in the front bearings was washed out from coolant contamination. This causes a lack of lubrication that leads to heat and ultimately bearing failure. Fortunately the rest of the spindle checked out well during our repair evaluation.
We were able to rebuild this spindle as a “straight repair” meaning no additional work was needed aside from our normal rebuilding procedures. The spindle was shipped two weeks from the approval date and is at the customer’s facility.
