Cincinnati Arrow 500 Spindle Coolant Contamination

Possible cause of failure: Front cover gasket failed, bearings failed from coolant contamination. Gripper balls are corroded. Shaft taper is worn and has poor tool contact. Front bearing journal shoulder has 4-5µ runout. Front housing ID is oversized & tapered +8/+18µ, rear housing ID is oversized +15/+18µ (ISO is +/- 7.5µ)

Recommended action: Clean, inspect overall dimensions. Kiss grind shaft taper & front bearing journal shoulder. Grind, chrome plate & finish grind front & rear housing ID. Upgrade to sealed bearings Replace gripper balls, Bellevilles, front cover gasket, nut locking washer, quad seal, o-rings & screws. Adjust preload, balance, assemble and break in. Final quality control inspection.
