Cincinnati Lancer Spindle Repair
The Cincinnati Lancer is a CNC vertical machining center that comes fitted with a belt driven spindle. It is lubricated by an oil mist system that allows this spindle to run up to 5,000 rpm.
This spindle suffered from several issues when it arrived at Northand Tool. The front #1 & #2 bearing failed when contamination broke down the lubrication in the bearings. The drawbar system also needed to be rebuilt. There were no dimensional deviations to note on this spindle.
The following actions were performed on this Cincinnati Lancer spindle:
- Clean, inspect overall dimensions
- Replace bearings, bellevilles, and quad ring seals
After reassembly of all components, adjusting bearing preload, and undergoing break-in and testing procedures, this spindle passed our final quality inspection before being returned to our customer with a 1-year warranty.
