Fadal Spindle Rebuild
This spindle was sent to us by our customer because they were experiencing very short spindle life from the OEM replacement spindles. We repair several other types of spindles for this customer so they have faith that we could extend the lifespan by repairing this spindle. We found that the housing and shaft bearing areas were well out of tolerance. This can cause premature bearing failure and part finish issues. We ground plate ground the bearing interfaces and repaired the spindle. Our customer reported back to us they have never had a spindle run this well in the machine since it was new.
Possible cause of failure:
- Catastrophic front and rear bearing failure from contamination
- Came in missing the front nut to load the front bearings properly

- Clean, inspect overall dimensions
- Replace bearings
- Replace front nut
- Grind chrome plate and regrind front housing
