Our customer sent us this spindle because it stopped spinning freely, the rear pulley taper had run out and the pilot was pitted.
Our inspection showed that the front housing nut had loosened causing a loss of preload to the spindle bearings. We also found the housing to be too tight in the rear not allowing spring pack to maintain preload on bearings.
