CHALLENGE

Seiko Seiki M11H-T, 110,000 RPM, oil mist lubrication, stator driven

Our customer uses this type of spindle to perform an ID grinding operation in the manufacture of precision automotive fuel injectors. The front-most hybrid ceramic bearing on this one was destroyed while the shaft was rotating at an astonishing speed of over 1800 revolutions per second. Despite that catastrophic failure, no other components in the spindle required our attention.

SOLUTION

After balancing the shaft on our Schenck machine, we rebuilt the spindle with all new ceramic bearings, o-rings and assembly screws. We finished this expedited rebuild with our final test run, break-in, trim balance and final QC.
