Takisawa TC-2 Spindle Repair

Takisawa TC-2 Spindle Repair

CHALLENGE

Upon initial inspection of the Takisawa TC-2 spindle, we discovered that the bearings were seized. The customer provided prints for this spindle model, but the documented dimensions and bearing complement were inconsistent with the spindle we received. The spindle interior was contaminated with cutting oil and material swarf. Grease was present in all bearings but was contaminated, rust-colored, and severely degraded. No significant dimensional deviations were noted (Shaft journals/shoulders, housing bores).

SOLUTION

All original parts were thoroughly cleaned prior to reassembly. This repair required replacement of all bearings, o-rings & assembly screws.

RESULT

Every Northland spindle repair undergoes a testing and break-in procedure, and a rigorous quality assurance process before being shipped back to the customer with a 1-year warranty.
