Shigiya G30 Spindle Repair
This Shigiya G30 spindle is grease lubricated, belt driven, and capable of running up to 3,600 rpm.
When this Shigiya G30 spindle arrived at Northland Tool and Electronics, we noted that the pulley nut was loose and the spindle was noisy when spun by hand. After a full breakdown and evaluation, we noted that the front bearings failed and the #1 bearing had a broken cage. There was signs of contamination throughout the spindle and the rear bearings had some slight contamination and felt rough when spun by hand. Lastly, the pulley OD taper had some high spots from belt wear and slightly high runout. No other dimensional deviations were noted for this repair.
The following actions were performed on this Shigiya G30 spindle:
- Clean, inspect overall dimensions
- Replace bearings, o-rings, and assembly screws
- Kiss grind the rear OD taper
After reassembly of all components, adjusting bearing preload, and undergoing break-in and testing procedures, this spindle passed our final quality inspection before being returned to our customer with a 1-year warranty.
