CHALLENGE
Our customer sent in this Omlat 0.7132.000 spindle stating that the motor kept faulting out. When it arrived at Northland Tool the spindle was seized. We bench tested all the proximity sensors and they all passed, one had some damage but passed as well. During disassembly we noted that the bolts that hold the target wheel to the rear nut sheared and allowed the target wheel to move freely. Due to this, the zero on the target wheel rubbed against the encoder causing damage. Lastly, the HSK tooling taper was worn at the mouth and had high run out.
