Schneider CCP Modulo Spindle Repair
The Schneider CCP Modulo spindle is used in the optical grinding industry. It is grease lubricated, pulley driven, and capable of running up to 2,000 rpm.
Our customer sent in this Schneider CCP Modulo spindle stating that the “tool pot” was broken inside. When it arrived at Northland Tool and Electronics, we noted that the spindle did not actuate properly with air. Upon closer inspection, we noted that the graphite piston was shattered, not allowing the spindle to actuate properly. The interior of spindle shows signs of contaminated grease and grinding slurry. No dimensional deviations were noted for this repair.
The following actions were performed on this Schneider CCP Modulo spindle:
- Clean, inspect overall dimensions
- Replace bearings, bolts, o-rings, and graphite piston
After reassembly of all components, adjusting bearing preload, and undergoing break-in and testing procedures, this spindle passed our final quality inspection before being returned to our customer with a 1-year warranty.
