Schneider Spindle Repair
This Schneider spindle is grease lubricated, belt driven, and capable of running up to 1,200 rpm.
Our customer sent us this Schneider spindle because it stopped spinning freely, the rear pulley taper had run out, and the pilot was pitted. Upon inspection, we noted that the grease had washed out of the front bearings and caused a catastrophic failure. No other dimensional deviations were noted for this repair.
The following actions were performed on this Schneider spindle:
- Clean, inspect overall dimensions
- Replace bearings, o-rings, and assembly screws
- Grind, chrome plate, and finish grind the pilot
After reassembly of all components, adjusting bearing preload, and undergoing break-in and testing procedures, this spindle passed our final quality inspection before being returned to our customer with a 1-year warranty.
