When we repair your spindle we replace all of the parts that could be worn or may cause your spindle to not function properly. We replace the coolant nozzles (pictured below), fasteners, O-rings, grippers, Belleville washers, tubing etc, if they show any sign of wear, with every Mori Seiki repair we do. Our competition frequently reuses these because they have not taken the time to source a cost effective alternatives to OEM parts. Possible cause of failure:
Rear bearing fretted
Chrome is chipping in the taper.
Tach sensor was not bolted on and loose in the housing.
Coolant jets are plugged in the front cover.
Field was completely saturated but passed all tests.
Grippers are worn.
Clean, inspect overall dimensions.
Grind, chrome plate and finish grind the ID 40 taper
Replace bearings, bolts, grippers, oring , oil mist tubing, encoder sensor and coolant plungers.
Clean out field
Adjust preload, balance, assemble and break in. Final quality control inspection.
