Possible cause of failure:
Rear housing cover covered with coolant residue, perhaps from leaking rotary union.
Catastrophic rear roller bearing failure from contamination. Rear roller housing is fretted.
Rear roller bearing race can be pushed into the housing by hand.
Shaft taper has a few deep pock marks, runout around marks measures 2-4µ.
Customer supplied CT40 tool & retention knob but do not wish to preserve Big-Plus function.
Gripper fingers are very worn.
Front housing cover and unclamp bar not supplied with spindle.
Clean, inspect overall dimensions.
Grind, chrome plate & finish grind rear roller housing
Grind, chrome plate & finish grind shaft taper
Install air purge port in rear cover to reduce rear roller contamination
Replace bearings, Bellevilles, o-rings & grippers.
Customer to supply missing components for setting drawbar & test running spindle.
Adjust preload, balance, assemble and break in. Final quality control inspection.
NOTE: Customer should inspect rotary union for leakage.
